Is my ‘old design’ ISIC or ITIC still valid?
The old design ISIC and ITIC are still in circulation, and are slowly being replaced
by new design cards. Both designs are valid and accepted, under the condition that
the card validity as printed on the card has not expired.

The world has changed and the ITIC needs to change with it. The increased number of ITIC cards which are cobranded
with other cards and the need for a more dynamic and contemporary look were just
a few of the reasons to adapt the ITIC design.

UNESCO endorsment
UNESCO endorses the ISIC and recognizes it as an unique document for student travel
and cultural exchange, as well an official internationally recognized proof
of student status. The ISIC Association maintaines a close relationship
with UNESCO and together they promote student travel, cultural exchange and international
understanding.
UNESCO logo on standard ITIC cards
To show the close relationship between the ISIC Association and UNESCO, the UNESCO
logo is printed on all standard ISIC and ITIC cards.
ITIC serial number
All ITIC cards have an unique serial number. Benefit partners can
the card validity against the central cardholder database.
Various Languages
All traveller should set off on a journey prepared with good travel insurance and
information on how to get emergency help any time, anywhere. If you are an ISIC
or ITIC holder one of the benefits offered by the cards is access to a 24-hour ISIC
Emergency Help Line. In case of an emergency, you can call the ISIC Emergency Help

ISIC Emergency Help Line operators can locate your nearest embassy or consulate,
and refer you to a local lawyer.
Emergency Medical Advice
ISIC Emergency Help Line operators can refer you to a qualified doctor in the country
you are visiting. If a particular medication is unavailable, arrangements can be
made to have prescribed drugs or medication sent to you. Qualified doctors are available
to give medical advice over the phone.
